Prepare for a career as a personal trainer with a NCAA-accredited National Academy of Sports Medicine certification. The course will cover basics of human movement, resistance training, flexibility, cardiovascular training, balance, core, reactive training, speed, agility, and quickness. You will gain hands-on experience with fitness assessments and learn how to work with future clients. In addition to classroom instruction, a concurrent online component is included. Upon completion, you will be prepared to take the certification exam. Students are required to complete an additional 50 hours of online coursework and fitness training outside of normal class meeting times.

|Materials:||Course fee includes text, access to online instruction and the certification exam. It also includes CPR 2-Year Certification which is required to test for your certification exam. Please bring exercise bands and a foam roller to the second session of class.|
Students will need to attend CPR training on April 7 from 11:30 am-4:30 pm at the UNLV Paradise Campus. This course will have coursework at specific gym locations in the Las Vegas Valley which will require student travel. Course dates at these locations are still TBD. First day of class will be at the UNLV Paradise Campus Room 512. Students will need to provide a foam roller and exercise band. These items will be discussed in the first class meeting.
