A Brief Tour Through Mesoamerica

Take a tour through the rich history and culture of Mesoamerica. Mesoamerica is a cultural and geographic area that extends from northern Mexico to Costa Rica at Central America. Over a period of thousands of years, the Aztec, Maya, Olmec, Toltec, Zapotec, and other cultures thrived in the region, leaving behind fascinating archeological sites including magnificent pyramids and complex ceremonial centers. Course will cover the archeology of the region and integrate discussions of culture, climate, temporality, and daily life.
