The End-of-Life Nursing Education Consortium (ELNEC) Project is a national end-of-life educational program administered by City of Hope (COH) and the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) designed to enhance palliative care in nursing.
Dr. Tricia Gatlin, Assistant Professor at UNLV, is a trained ELNEC provider. She has designed from the ELNEC curriculum an End of Life continuing education program based on three major elements of the ELNEC course. Palliative nursing care will be covered as well as the role of communication at end of life. Concepts of loss, grief and bereavement will be discussed. The course will use lecture, case study, and experiential learning to expand the nurse's knowledge on these concepts. Course approved by Nevada State Board of Nursing for 13 CNEs. Lunch will be provided.
