Fashion Apparel Construction: Icon New

Design and create your personal interpretation of an iconic garment. Certain fashion concepts stand the test of time and are forever linked with their famous designers-think Chanel's little black dress, Calvin Klein's slip dress, or Diane von F├╝rstenberg's classic jersey wrap dress. Your task will be to draw inspiration from one of these iconic designs and put your own spin on it. You will use flat-pattern and/or draping methods and techniques for creating a unique style and well-constructed garment. In the process, learn about basic body silhouettes and proper measurements for flattering the figure. Embellishments will be discussed such as lace, beads, sequins, rhinestones, etc. to compliment your design. Project: Choose and create your favorite designer iconic style garment. dance.
