Through the lens of modern cinema, examine some of the difficult ethical questions facing contemporary society. Issues introduced through films will include childhood poverty; illegal immigration; food production; gender and racial identities; institutional corruption; and modern warfare. An introduction to each film will provide a framework for viewing the film and discussing questions of both ethics and morality evoked by the film. Film list includes The Florida Project, El Norte, Food, Inc., Rotten, Moonlight, The Whistleblower, and Iron Man 3. [Viewer Discretion: These films contain mature content. They may include graphic language, scenes of violence, sex, and nudity which can be disturbing.
