Prerequisites

Prior to enrolling in ESL Pronunciation and Fluency II, you must have completed the specified prerequisites (if you have not taken a prerequisite, you can click on the catalog code link to see a list of upcoming course sections):

ESL Pronunciation and Fluency I
This course is designed for English language learners who want to improve their American English pronunciation and speak more clearly in everyday conversations. Even if you already know English grammar and vocabulary, you may want to work on your communication skills. This class will focus on how our speech is influenced by linking, sentence and word stress, and sound combinations. You will also learn natural intonation patterns that help your speech sound more fluent and and help you feel more confident. With guided practice, listening exercises, and speaking activities, you will build the skills you need to communicate more effectively. Whether your goal is to improve your confidence, enhance your presentation skills, or be more easily understood, this course will help you take your American English to the next level.
