Learn the skills needed to create your own cosplay costume designs or modify pre-existing costumes to suit your needs. Discuss the history of cosplay and the process of costume construction from concept development to production. You will learn and practice working with difficult costume fabrics on your sewing machine, build a basic prop, and alter a pre-existing costume. The skills learned in this course can be used for your own cosplay performance, or for costume making in the theater or entertainment industry.
Prerequisite: Beginner to intermediate knowledge of sewing.

|All fabric will be provided. Bring your own sewing machine and a basic sewing kit (with pins, a seam ripper, measuring tape, and thread) to class each day. If you have your own costume that you would like to alter, bring it on the first day of class.
