Overdose Prevention Training: Recognizing and Responding to an Opioid Overdose New

According to the Centers for Disease Control, opioids were involved in 68,630 overdose deaths in 2020 (74.8% of all drug overdose deaths in the U.S.). Learn how to recognize the symptoms of an opioid overdose and respond to the situation by administering the life-saving medication Naloxone. You will receive information about the scope of opioid use in Nevada, basic harm reduction strategies, and learn about the Good Samaritan Law and Drug Overdose Act. You will leave class knowing how to recognize and respond to an opioid overdose, and will receive an overdose response kit that contains Naloxone.
