This three hour CEU course will focus on three major domains of violence risk and threat assessment which are: Individual/psychological, social/environmental, and the biological domains. A Biopsychosocial model of 18 risk factors for violence towards others will culminate in an exercise that will increase the clinicians' abilities to assess violence and threat risk efficiently and with increased accuracy. The session will end with a presentation and discussion on the difference between affective violence and predatory violence including psychopathy and sexual violence. This course is approved for 3 CEUs through the following boards: Nevada Board of Examiners for Social Workers, Nevada Board of Psychological Examiners, and Nevada Board of Examiners for Marriage and Family Therapists.
