Implement evidence-based tools within your health care practice to measurably lower your Hospital-Acquired Conditions (HACs) rate. HACs are costly and dangerous events that occur while patients are receiving care for another condition during a hospital stay. HACs may include bloodstream and urinary tract infections, pressure ulcers, and adverse drug events. Sustained focus on reducing HACs resulted in a 17 percent decline nationally from 2010 to 2013, saving about 50,000 lives and nearly $12 billion in health costs. These results are promising, and reinforce the need for all health care workers to have up-to-date training on reducing HACs. Course approved for 6.5 CNEs through the Nevada State Board of Nursing. Lunch will be provided.
