UNLV's Boyd School of Law (LAW) has partnered with DEO to process registrations for participants in its Executive Education program. DEO will process registrations for LAW via web, phone, fax, mail, and in person at the DEO Information Desk and depost revenue in a specified LAW budget account. COURSE DESCRIPTION:
The course will examine the nature and prevalence of problem gambling, the role of government and the industry in addressing the issue, and best practices to address it including prevention, education, and treatment. This course will not only focus on the problem but will also provide practical, research-based solutions that various jurisdictions around the world have implemented. This course explores responsible gambling as a player protection mechanism, addressing both prevention and harm minimization. This course will also examine limitations on gaming advertising and related approaches jurisdictions have explored to address problem gaming.

Introduction to Indian Gaming Law

COURSE DESCRIPTION:
The course will cover statutes, regulations, and case law pertaining to Indian gaming issues, with particular focus on the federal Indian Gaming Regulatory Act of 1988 (IGRA) and its interpretation. Participants will learn about Indian gaming's origins and policy goals, how tribal gaming is regulated, and the tribal-state compacting process required for casino-style gaming.

COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This course will go over a basic understanding of gaming law and the regulatory schemes used by gaming operators, manufacturers, distributors and vendors. This course will focus on understanding gaming business and operations from the operator and consumer perspective, and will go over the myriad of legal and practical issues faced by businesses, executives, board of directors, and legal counsel (in-house and outside) face on a daily basis.
