From Railroad to Resorts is a five-course series exploring the evolution of Las Vegas from its mid-19th-century origins to its modern identity. The course examines the valley’s development from early settlements and railroad rivalries to the construction of the Hoover Dam and the birth of the iconic Strip. A significant focus is placed on the growth of the Black community and the pivotal Civil Rights movements that transformed the city's social landscape.
