UNLV Fall 2022 Saturday STEM Camp

Description:
The UNLV Howard R. Hughes College of Engineering and the UNLV College of Education are pleased to host the Fall 2022 Saturday STEM Camp. The goal of this STEM outreach program is to spark early student interest, ingenuity, and creativity in STEM by encouraging students to acquire knowledge, apply it, and to explore possible solutions to technical problems.

Schedule:
The camp will meet on the following Saturdays: 9/17, 10/8, 10/15, 10/22, 11/5, 11/12, 11/19 and 12/3. The morning session will run from 9:45 am to 11:45 am and the afternoon session will run from 1:15 pm to 3:15 pm. Participants will enjoy their lunch break at the UNLV Dining Commons where they will particpate in a comprehensive education program, focusing on motivation, self-efficacy, and team-building.

Module Description:
Introduction of Semiconductor Manufacturing: Semiconductors, sometimes referred to as integrated circuits (ICs) or microchips, are made from pure elements, typically silicon or germanium, or compounds. This module gives students opportunities to fabricate and characterize some of the semiconductor components and devices seen in microchips.

Cancellation Policy:
Students who cancel their registration prior to 9/11/22 will receive a 100% refund less a $35 administrative fee. Cancellation requests must be submitted in writing to stemunlv@unlv.edu.
