This class will discuss the rise of Anti-Semitism and hate crimes perpetuated against Jews, Blacks, LGBQT, AAPI and other minority groups in the United States. There will be an array of topics discussed, such as the definition of a hate crime, examples of hate crimes, slogans, logos and symbols used, how hate crimes spread, recruitment techniques and the lessons learned from history. We will also look at the methods that can be used to identify, report and prevent hate crimes.
