He is a retired software engineer who worked in many areas, including the Department of Defense, hospitals, HMOs, small business, and early internet providers. McMillen is a life-long fan of old movies, especially B movies and Saturday serials. He has been a newspaper reporter, a middle school instructor, and a middle school academic coach in LEGO robotics competitions.
